Welcome to the Oosterpark Rankings, the most complete historical club football rankings on the internet. On this site, you will find club world rankings calculated from the very beginning of football as we know it in the season 1871-1872. Rankings are available on a world basis as well as by continent (or by confederation membership to be precise). There are club rankings for many different eras as well, like the 19th century, the period since continental club competitions like the European Cup and Copa Libertadores were founded, and a club ranking since money started to play the lead role in 1992 (when Champions League and Premier League were founded). Furthermore, the leading countries have their own domestic club ranking, presented in the form of an all-time Premier League, an all-time Bundesliga or all-time Serie A ranking. The main part of the rankings is the all-time club world ranking though, featuring each and every known domestic, continental and intercontinental cup in club football history. Through the navigation bar and/or the site summary at the bottom of each Oosterpark Ranking page one may access the introduction page with a basic explanation of how the rankings work. At the time of writing, the database contains more than 57,000 entires in terms of trophies won and (bonus)points obtained, for over 4,500 football clubs across the globe. The Oosterpark Rankings take an interest only in club football and regional and world club rankings. At times, requests for league or even international football rankings have been made, but there are enough of those available on the internet. To the best of my knowledge, there is no comparable all-time club football ranking though, certainly not at world club level, which is why ZelenaZvezda.com focuses on them. This year (in 2009), the project celebrates its 10th birthday, but it will by its very nature always be 'work in progress'. This is why occasionally retroactive changes to the rankings may occur, even though we're long past the point where it affects the top of the rankings. Nevertheless, whenever hitherto unknown facts, competitions and the like surface, they will be included in the rankings. This particular page serves as a cockpit from where the club rankings in question can be accessed, along with a range of information on current year points, quick overviews, a discussion/question forum and links to other rankings, historical and current, as well as a list of sources and credits. The above overview is a quick glance at the top three of all continental rankings as well as some of the highest rated leagues (well, ok, and the author's domestic league :p). While the overview is still static, since January 2009, the underlying detailed domestic rankings are available through the menu structure.
